Be Still

Be still, then, and know that I am God. — Psalm 46:11.

During these anxious time it is hard to sit still. One of the hardest thing to do during Centering Prayer or Meditation is sit still.  I tend to fidget or move my legs constantly. So when I hear the command, “Be still,” my body wants to rebel.

Yet, I also know that when I do sit still a Peace comes over me. I used to arrive early at Church just to sit still and feel God’s presence. Now that the churches are closed, I tend to seek out a park bench or tree stump.

What I have learned is that in the quiet and in the stillness wherever you can find it, God finds you.
