An Image Of an Ox

Israel made a bull-calf at Horeb and worshipped a molten image; and so they exchanged their Glory for an image of an ox that feeds on grass. — Psalm 106:19-20.

Imagine exchanging your relationship with God for an image of an ox. You say, I might say, “No way, would I ever do something like that.”

You and I probably wouldn’t worship a bull, but I suspect all of us have put some inanimate object be objects, goals, or tween us and God. Pursuit of money is an obvious graven image, but there are many more goals, objects, visions, or dreams that quickly become obsessions.
