Observation

You can observe a lot by watching. — Yogi Berra.

I had the wonderful opportunity to be with my four children last weekend. It doesn’t happen often with them living in four different cities, they have children of their own, and very busy work and family schedules. It was time for them to catch up, talk, laugh, and enjoy each other, Missy, and Suzy. It was also time for me to watch.

Of course, I spoke, hugged, and participated, but it was also time for me to watch the interaction and observe the love that comes out of my close knit family. As a friend told me a long time ago, “You are indeed a fortunate man.”

We must never underestimate the how wonderful family can be. Family is one of God’s greatest gifts. Take time to observe by watching.
