Worldly Existence

I have written several times recently about the fragility of life. Perhaps that is because I am getting older and friends and I have old acquaintances who are leaving at a more rapid pace. Truth is that I don’t know how fragile life is. I can only speak to our time on earth, not to the beforehand or the after life. For all I know, life continues into eternity.

Lent is time to focus on the present and our earthly presence however. No matter how fragile life is or isn’t, we are called to make the most of the here and now. Our full attention should be on on service, study, sacrifice, and prayer/worship. If we are true to that discipline I suspect our worldly existence and any other world existences will take care of themselves.
