Far-Off Place

I would flee to a far-off place and make my lodging in the wilderness. — Psalm 55:8.

Summer approaches and dreams turn to vacations in the mountains, beaches, and far-off places. Those in cold climates want to chase the sun, while those soaked in heat and humidity search out cool breezes and mountain shade. Some seek intellectual stimulation at retreats, while others seek to hone their athletic skills at camps. You name it, there’s a getaway for just about anyone.

Our neighbor just rode her bicycle across the country. It is something she always dreamed about doing, and she did it. As we were talking last night I found myself asking, “What and where would you like to do and be, if you could?” More importantly is the answer to the question, “What is holding you back?”

What are your answers?
