Hat Day

Tomorrow brings the coronation of King Charles III. Also, the Kentucky Derby. What a weekend for women’s hats and men’s top hats! I’m thinking of pairing mint juleps with coronation chicken sandwiches. Throw in a long weekend of cinco de mayo celebrations with margaritas, sombreros, colorful skirts, and my favorite cuisine since I was first introduced to Mexican food at Browning’s Mexican Restaurant in Little Rock.

I am not an astrologer, but the stars are aligned, and it’s time for me not to resist this weekend of celebration, but to go with the flow. In all time and in all cultures there is a time to sing, dance, and celebrate. Any religion or government that forbids celebration ignores its own past and origins.

I am comfortable in a pair of jeans and a loose fitting shirt, but for once it would be cool to don a top hat and tails. (Don’t tell Suzy I said that.).

Have a wonderful weekend. We will get back to meditations next week.
