And let us not be weary in well-doing: for in due season we shall reap if we faint not. – Gal. 6:9
Getting tired of Lent? Do you find yourself asking what is required of me next? Is it just what’s next on my to-do list? Well, no one can answer that question but yourself, and to begin, your next duty is to determine what your next duty is? But ask yourself, is there nothing you have neglected? Is there nothing you know you ought to do? I certainly do. We should ask ourselves, “If I were not so ambitious to accomplish great things, what do I need to do that is commonplace and dreary?” In that question perhaps lies our answer. Is there not a friend or relative who needs our presence, and in comforting him or her we find comfort as well. Is there not some chore so mundane, so unpleasant, yet when accomplished enriches the quality of your life. Try for once the duty that always gets put off, and it will soon lead to more, it will comfort you immediately, and at length may open the unknown fountain of life in your heart.
