Curiosity is not often deemed an attribute, but it can be one of the most important skills one can develop.
Curiosity can lead to a rewarding career. If a young person is curious about how the body works becoming a doctor may be in his/her future. An astronaut may have started because of a yearning to learn about outer space or how to fly. The list goes on and on, but we can’t all be doctors, astronauts, marine biologists, etc.
What we can be is curious about why our neighbor acts a certain way. Is there reason why a neighbor is shy and won’t leave his/her house. If a coworker is always angry, are you curious why that is so? Are you afraid to fly, swim in the ocean, or drive in Atlanta. (Well, everyone I know is afraid to drive in Atlanta). God wants us to be a good neighbor, and to do so we must be curious about him/her and what makes them tick.
A good rule of thumb is to be curious about a neighbor’s behavior before you criticize or walk away.
