Exercise

No matter what diet book you might read or doctor you visit, one thing is in common. They all suggest you exercise every day. I know when I do, I feel better about the rest of the day, despite how much my body may resist my feeble efforts. So I was struck by the following:

Do not neglect to do good, and to share what you have. Hebrews 13:16.

Imagine if we all adding doing good and sharing with others to our daily routine. Like exercise, we get so swept up in our own lives and daily demands that we neglect to perform simple small acts of kindness for our family, our friends, and the poor. We put “doing good” on the back burner, like we put off a trip to the local gym or a morning walk.

As you add to your daily calendar even the smallest amount exercise, add doing good and sharing to it as well, until it becomes like regular exercise – something you can’t live well without.
