And what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God? — Micah 6:8
Put on therefore .. kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, long-suffering. – Col. 3:12
Humility of spirit is something we all strive for, but there is also something working against humility that is part of our nature as well. I’m not sure what one calls it but it is ever present. Think about it. Although there can be no true gentleness without humility, we still are easily fond of ourselves, and easily offended by others. In our morning meditation we have to work hard to persuade ourselves that nothing, absolutely nothing is due us, but if we can accomplish this mindset then nothing will disturb us.
There is no stronger Christian endorsement of humility than the simple fact that Christianity is the only religion to have as its central event the humiliation of its God.
It is better to approach the future with hopes instead of expectations. Unfulfilled expectations become premeditated resentments.
Insightful Response. Thank You. W.
