The Garden of Eden Revisited

During my morning meditation I had a weird thought. (Many of you probably think I have lots of weird thoughts.) Maybe Adam and Eve weren’t expelled from the garden of eden, but the garden was actually expanded to include the entire earth, and we as humans were charged to keep, till, and nurture God’s creation?

Adam and Eve were given a second chance, but I’m not sure we will have that opportunity. Or at least the opportunity won’t be available for our grandchildren and great grandchildren if we continue to pollute the air, water, and land.

Eve was seduced by a snake, perhaps our snake are the people who argue that pollution is not really a problem.

During lent we renew our efforts to serve our neighbors. One good way to serve our neighbors is to participate in conservation and anti-pollution efforts. The world is a magnificent garden, but it needs our care and love, not abuse.
