Good Friends

Suzy and I had dinner last night with a couple who are good friends, but we haven’t seen in awhile. It was a wonderful evening; even though, we did discuss our respective health issues a little too much( a common occurrence among people our age). But we did catch up on our children,, travel plans, books we were reading, and what shows we are streaming or binge watching. ( A new but common topic of conversation these days.)

I am convinced that friendship is one of God’s greatest blessings. I bet you have a friend you haven’t seen for years, but when you do get together “it’s as if it’s been only a moment ago.” I know I have. I bet you had a friend in your life who you didn’t have to say a word. His or her presence was enough.

Friendships ebb and flow, wane and wax, but sustain us through the worst of times. I wonder if God could use a friend right now. We sure have made a mess of his creation, and as his children we are behaving very poorly right now.

You might ask him/her.
